 [[[[[[[Special Flash]]]]]]]]

Monthly Specials: Our new cleaners have received such rave reviews that the 20% kit discount with the purchase of all three 32 ounce bottles still remains. Finally too, my new stock of Advantage is due by mid February. I still have a few cases of my current stock left. The shelf life is another 2 years yet. Generally $90 for a case, it is on super sale for only $72 -six bottles per case. Advantage will never be sold at this price again.

Yes the new stock that is coming in has been greatly improved. It no longer leaves a white powder on black surfaces and does an even better job shining. We are also bringing in two items you will just love. RenewsIt removes swirl marks, impurities (so does Advantage) and water spot marks on paint leaving the surface smooth, slick and shinny with enhanced color. On windshields it removes impurities and coats the glass which makes bug removal quick and easy as well as sheeting rain. Use our TerraPlus to remove water spots on glass. TerraPlus does an excellent job cleaning engines and even removes grease on oil on driveways. It is environmentally safe yet a powerful industrial strength cleaner.

We also have AlumiBrite arriving as well. You will love what it does for your aluminum wheels and metal surfaces.

Discounts will be given before your card is processed. Ignore your invoice. I now have those wonderful yellow dusting cloths that have not been seen in stores for a long time. You will receive one free with each $30 purchase. Please state in the comment section that you are a Moppins Mail reader.

Additionally when you purchase all three of the cleaners, you will receive free a 4 ounce bottle of our Pure Ayre, a $5.50 value.

 [[[[[[[GREETINGS]]]]]]]]

Before I get to the main part of the greeting let me share an irony of the world we all travel. A sign along I 5 in Southern California reads "California crops improve air quality." Ok, everyone knows the tremendous benefits plants lend to air quality. Only the sign lost every ounce of credibility because it was placed directly in front of a large dairy farm, the stench from which you can smell from five miles away no matter what direction you travel. Um - California growers you might want to rethink your advertising strategies.

In my last Moppins Mail I shared an article about child rearing written by Erma Bombeck. Along with Erma's article this one was also found tucked in my son's baby book. It was dated December, a month known for giving of gifts, in the year 1983 and cut out from his grade school newsletter in Spring, Texas. Just like Erma's letter, this was a sharp awakening to me as to how lax I've become over the years in showing grace and understanding with others and with myself as well.

"Perfect Gifts for Your Children" author unknown

Give the gift of acceptance. Teach those around you that they are loved for what they are, not for what they do or even how much they please you. Give this gift with a kiss.

Give the gift of self-confidence by helping them understand and accept that no one can be approved of all the time, and that when one encounters disapproval he need not feel immobilized or upset, that he must trust himself, not the opinions of others. Give this gift with a hug.

Give them the gift of possibilities. Don't let them label themselves as intellectuals, athletes, little ladies, macho men or whatever. Give them an example of a person who is not slotted into any one compartment and tell them a boy or girl can sew or play football, can cry or be brave, can cut the grass or do the dishes. Give them the gift of the freedom to be anything rather than limit themselves in any way by nonsensical labels and roles. Give this gift with a smile.

Give them the gift of a life without needless fears by not being a worrier yourself. Show them that you will tackle problems but that you will not just sit around and fret about them. Encourage them to become doers as well. Give this gift with a laugh.

Give them the gift of being a person who has a spark and an appreciation for all of life. Encourage them to be fully alive in every way. Allow them to have adventures, a chance for laughter, fun, creativity. Give them the supreme gift of being able to find happiness in virtually all circumstances. Give this gift as they go out the door. For all these gifts will last forever.

[[[[[[[TIMELY TIPS:

If you are new to Moppins Mail and want to catch up the past several issues, they are available on my blog. http://amazingcleaningtips101.blogspot.com/, which is updated several times a week so be sure to bookmark the spot.

Be sure to visit my website. It is getting a facelift. It's easy now to maneuver between pages, footers have been added to guide and subtle things to make finding your way around far more friendly. More changes are yet to come!

Last issue covered selecting a new vacuum but what about caring for the one you have? Vacuums are such troopers. They keep working week after week when the majority of us - yes me included J do nothing to take care of them until their wheels start squeaking.

Remember this is a general guideline only. Your vacuum schedule is an individual issue depending on your families circumstances.

*NOTE: I tape a note to the front of my vacuum with the date I changed the belt and the beater so I don't have to track down or remember the last time I did it.

Beaters

Before you begin vacuuming, check the beater if your vacuum has one. Remove any strings or debris that wind around the beater. If it is soiled clean it using our CleanEz. It removes dirt and grime in one quick swipe. If you don't remove the dirt your carpet will. Also remove any dust or dirt that has collected in the housing unit where the beaters attach to the vacuum. The vent needs attention as well. Replace the beater if the brushes seem worn.

Most important though, replace your belt at least once a year. They stretch with use, which means the beater cannot properly clean your carpet.

Next check your bag. Vacuums loose their suction ability when the bag is filled. Micro-particle bags are available for those with allergy or sinus problems. They claim to prevent dirt from escaping. I have never used them so I cannot tell you if they are effective or not.

Vacuuming schedule

Carpet manufacturers recommend vacuuming wall-to-wall carpet daily. I feel it depends on traffic. With children and pets, high traffic areas may need the frequent vacuuming. Light traffic areas usually just need a weekly cleaning. Daily vacuuming is designed to prevent dirt from being ground into the carpet lengthening the time between shampoos.

The art of vacuuming

Ok art is stretching this a bit far. There are right ways to tackle your carpet. Pick up chucky objects before vacuuming. Keep an extra eye out for small toys, if you have children or little reminders from your pets if they roam your home. These things hide in carpet and sneak into your vacuum with not so pleasant aftermath.

Pre-treat most stains with CleanEZ. Not only is it an industrial strength cleaner but an excellent stain remover for both carpet and clothing. CleanEz pulled gum out of my truck carpet in less than two minutes. Spray on CleanEz diluted, onto the spot. Wait only a minute or two, blot then rinse with one-quarter cup white vinegar per quart of water.

If you have a two story home - start vacuuming on the second floor. On all floors start at the back of your home working towards the center so you don't accidentally drag dirt over freshly vacuumed carpet.

First pull out your furniture if you didn't do this while dusting. Start at the back of your room, vacuum behind the furniture replacing it as you go. Work your way out of the room. The carpet and rug industry recommends going over each area 4 times - twice in each direction. Well theories are wonderful but do vacuum slowly so your vacuum does have time to inhale the dirt.
