Monthly Specials:
If you haven't stopped in for gas in the last few days, it has gone up 5 to 10 cents a gallon since last week. Some areas will see $5 a gallon by mid summer while the rest of us will be chucking out $4 plus a gallon. That is over $50 for most people to fill their vehicles, which is double last year's prices.
There is hope with our FiltaKleen. The pint treats 1200 gallons of gas. So for less than 50 cents per tank of gas or diesel, you will add between 2 and 3 MPG depending on the size of your engine. Larger engines like motorhomes and semi-truck increase around one-half MPG. At $4 a gallon it will save you a minimum of $500 per bottle based on 18MPG. The cost of this pint is only $43 so you will be saving $457 at the gas pump. Plus it conditions your engine and keeps your fuel clean if it sets for any length of time. This is especially important for RVs, show cars or boats that may set for periods of time.
[[[[[[[GREETINGS]]]]]]]]
Please once again forgive me for this newsletter being late. This past week I ran into a legal problem I thought I would never have to face; one that has potential to affect my outstanding credit and business standing.
This story is one more of a gentle reminder in hopes of encouraging you to make the extra step to be kind to each other. To reach out to others with that same boost you got when someone pull you up by the straps and boosted you back in the saddle when the horse threw you.
Last year, in early March a young man out of Arkansas called asking me to help him start his boat detailing business. I spent hours on the phone with him teaching him every detail on how to clean these boats from mold to wax to removing oxidation on lettering and stripes - the list is exhaustive as was the time I spent with him.
As his customers showed interested in the boat wax he was using - my Advantage - "Steve" talked to me about a private label for the product. Since he is not a distributor for my supplier and could not by direct, I agreed to work with him.
Well I stupidly agreed to ship the first order COD to a dsitributor he lined up who would take the entire order. Just before it arrived to this place of business "Steve" called to say this other man no longer wanted the shipment. Yes I am naïve enough that I fell for this little stunt. So I was stuck taking out a loan and it was not a small sum of money.
He did start making on time monthly payments but needed more stock before the first invoice was paid. I agreed but only with the understanding that the 2nd order be paid in full and up front. Supposedly the "check was in the mail" and after the shipment went out I then found out he took the products, the money he was to pay me and headed off to a poker run instead. (Yes I have learned - cash in advance only.) Therefore I told him no more stock until his bills are paid in full.
Only he needs more of the aluminum polish so rather than pay his bill to me he hired a lawyer to file a restraining order against Mary Moppins and myself to prevent me from blocking him from purchasing directly from my supplier. My supplier read his lawyer the riot act since "Steve" is not a distributor and will never be able to buy directly from them especially after this little stunt. "Steve" knew this, yet lied to his attorney and consequently the judge so the judge approved the restraining order.
Of course his lawyer was not obligated to call me to get the facts and didn't - nor did he bother to counsel his client as to the effect this would have on my company and my credit. So my credit has been damaged and will take time to have it restored and I'm left trying to pick up the pieces. Fortunately the lawyer did not have the restraining order served to me in person so the whole thing will be thrown out but nonetheless the matter will have to be resolved within the court system, which means hiring and paying for a lawyer that is unaffordable right now until "Steve" pays his bills.
My attorney here in Eugene advised me to hire a lawyer in Little Rock so that process must start first thing Monday morning. It will cost me a great deal of money and time to straighten out something that was caused by the ruthless and damaging lies of another person.
Yes this has been a very valuable albeit expensive lesson. But I hope it will be a gentle reminder - be grateful for even the smallest of kindnesses someone shows you then return that to others. Gratefully, for every rotten egg, there are 11 others who are jewels.
[[[[[[[TIMELY TIPS:
If you are new to Moppins Mail and want to catch up the past several issues, they are available on my blog. http://amazingcleaningtips101.blogspot.com/, which is updated several times a week so be sure to bookmark the spot.
"Summer time and the living is easy" as the song goes and you would rather be wiggling your toes in the sand at the beach than your hand in the toilet bowl water trying to clean it.
I'm working on a new process for speed cleaning that will guarantee you will zip through chores in no time. I'm not going to give you all the details as it will be a part of a downloadable Ebook. I will give you a glimpse into the bathroom section for a head start. Everyone needs a little help with bathrooms and this will get you in and out of there in no time.
*I am also compiling all the cleaners you will need and putting everything into a fine no-fail format." I'm excited and I think people of all ages will be thrilled to find out these very effective but time saving tricks.
Remember this does not include everything detail about cleaning your bathroom - just enough to give you a good glimpse into what is in store.
In the book I co-authored "The Complete Idiot's Guide to Cleaning," you will find a speed cleaning section that is quite good. This is a step beyond that and my new ebook will have the rest.
Oke step by step - remember each bathroom differs since some have Jacuzzi's and other things that will make a difference.
*NOTE: Remember you cannot speed clean anything unless you have the right tools to do it with. You may spend a bit more for good quality but it will cut your cleaning time and save you a bundle of money down the road.
1) In the morning that you are to clean the bathroom, as you brush your teeth, put items on your counter away - have each member of the family do this for the bathroom they use. When you finish brushing, Pull the sink stopper and start filling the sink with hot water. Place your soap dishes in it to soak. Shake any rug in the bathroom into the adjoining room or outdoors whatever you prefer.
2) Now grab 2 towels for each bathroom, plus one extra, placing them in one plastic bag. Use a second bag to dispose of dirty towels.
3) Be sure your bottles of cleaner Terra Plus, Benya and CleanEz are filled and head into the first bathroom.
4) Spray the toilet bowl first with the TerraPlus and the outer areas of the toilet. Then spray the counters and sink with CleanEz and finally the shower or tub with TerraPlus. Pick up the Benya and spray the mirror. Then use TerraPlus to spray the shower or tub starting at the bottom and working your way to the top, then spray the floor.
5) Clean the toilet, lids and around seat with the brush dropping it into the now soapy water and then clean the soap dishes with the brush and around the faucets and the sink. Let the water out of the sink. Shake out the brush in the tub or shower and put it back in your tote. Wipe down the mirror, counter faucet and sink.
6) Move to the toilet and dry the seat, lid and outer edges. Grab your second towel starting at the bottom of the shower or tub walls wipe your way to the top ending with the floor.
7) Dampen down the spare towel with water and use our Mary Moppins Mop to damp mop the floor. This mop is wonderful because you can carry it from room to room and not worry about wet drippy mop heads. And as you move from room to room, if you see some cobwebs, toss a towel over the mop head and wipe them off - yes too easy and terribly quick.
8) You are done. I cleaned my 2 full bathrooms and half bath this morning in just under 30 minutes including swatting down a few cobwebs. I do not have a large bathroom so keep that in mind. Add about 5 minutes for larger bathrooms.
Stay tuned for the news on the new cleaning process. You will love what I'm doing now!
