Monthly Specials:  

     PLEASE NOTE: Prices for nearly 50% of Mary Moppins products will be going up Mid November. The high cost of fuel has led to a record 20% increase of our cost of goods this year, which is well above the usual 5 to 10% increase. Unfortunately this means increasing our suggested retail cost. Mop products will see a $3 to $4 per item increase and others items such as towels, cleaners and accessories will be increased as well.

     Freight charges will also be going up in early Jan. I have enough stock to last through early Nov. After that prices unfortunately will have to be raised.  

     OCT Special: any order over $30 will receive a pair of my Swifter towels for free. This currently is a $2 value and will be going up to $2.50 in Nov. They are handy for polishing and using around the kitchen instead of paper towels - yes you save a tree and money buying paper towels. They are machine washable rather than using them once and tossing them in the trash.     First, if I may bring you up to date with some wonderful news. My blood tests last week showed my Hepatitis C is still non-detectable. I took myself off the Amantadine 7 months ago after the second non-detectable count. I wanted to test  whether or not this disease would return. The antigens will always remain with me but the virus is no longer active. With continued dietary diligence I feel confident the virus will never return and will be able to avoid liver cancer to perhaps one day hold my great grandchildren.  

     After an article appeared in the Olympia, Washington newspaper about how I overcame Hep, people have emailed desperately looking for alternative solutions. I have sent them information on my diet, meditation, tub sweats and most importantly -encouragement.  Some of these folks are loosing weight on my diet (without being hungry) and feeling hopeful for the first time since their diagnosis. A few have started Amantadine. 

   Grandfather was not content with me helping just a few people. He continued His nagging until I picked up a pen and sketched out chapters for a book. Only my pen stumbled when it came to the section on nutrition. I know enough to tell people they must bring themselves back to an alkaline state (virus cannot live in an alkaline body including hep C and cancer) but what foods do you eat to achieve that? Would this diet help those with a Fibromyalgia, cancer and possibly MS? What hope and advise could I offer people other than Hep C folks? 

   I felt like Grandfather took me to the edge of a cliff, strapped on a hand glider then kicked my backside and sent me into the far blew yonder. All I could do was scream for help since I know nothing about "super foods," what to eat to get the body alkaline or enough about the healing power of these foods to educate others. 

   Once Grandfather patiently showed me when he puts up a roadblock that if I keep trusting and screaming loud enough He brings solutions. He guided me to a safe landing at my sister's over the weekend.  I met the son of her partner whose studies on nutrition has lead to a return of health for his father. This brilliant young man and talented musician is now studying to be a nutritionist. 

     With his extensive knowledge of raw foods and diet, Josh will be writing the nutrition section of the book, which hopefully will be finished later this year.      Josh sent the address for a restaurant in San Francisco who has the most delicious and healthy food. Yes they have a pie recipe that is out of this world. http://www.withthecurrent.com/ds/. Eating healthy this holiday season can be yummy! 

     NOTE: For those of you who are new to my newsletter, I received a blood transfusion 23 years ago and along with it, this wonderful Hep C virus. Hep C is not just a disease of drug users.  Many of our servicemen and women also "inherited" it when the armed services used the same needle to inoculate entire groups of people. Give them a hug they are courageous and dedicated people. 

 ***Please for your health and be screened for hepatitis. Hep C can linger in your body for years without symptoms as it did mine. You can get this and other diseases anywhere. Use sense when out in public. I see parents who allow their children to go barefoot in public areas especially restrooms. Diseases of this nature are spread by body fluids. There is no more favorite place for viruses to lie in wait other than the floor of a public restroom.

    If you glazed over the Monthly Specials section, you may want to go back and read that section. I am having a large increase in my cost of materials so prices are going up on many items in early November. 

    Yes I know it's early to think about Holiday cleaning. Every year I try to send reminders to get things done early. I have a pie crust recipe on my blog. http://amazingcleaningtips101.blogspot.com.  Oct 6th 2006. It makes 2 double crusted pies and freezes up to six months. I do not believe in eating pie crusts of this nature since they are deadly to your heart and veins but offer it for people who enjoy a good crust. It makes 2 double crusted pies and freezes for 6 months. 

      I strongly recommend fixing pie crusts made from live food like cocoa beans, raw cashews and agave syrup. I had one this weekend at my sisters. It was sinful yet completely healthy. Please eat healthy this season J. 

   Now grab one of our new baby diaper cloths (they still are not on my website yet as I'm having a hard time finding someone to work on my site that I can trust not to cause "structural" problems to my website) and our Wood Care and give your wood furniture and cabinets a head start on the winter. Heat dries wood so pampering your wood now will keep it healthy and happy while you celebrate the season.   

     Get your linens out and soak them in fresh hydrogen peroxide about 2 cups in a bathrub - to remove any yellowing. This works well for baptism gowns as well. 

    This is the time to polish your silver and wash your holiday dishes. Write out a list of what needs to be done and when. Then check them off when you finish. While you sit at fall soccer and football games, address envelopes for your holiday cards if you purchased them at the end of season sales last year. Take along a notebook and write out dinner menus then make your grocery list. 

     Compile a list of dishes that can be made ahead of time and frozen not only for guest meals but also for your dinners when time is tight. Most meals like stews freeze well for two to three months. I like freezing them in plastic bags (mark them on the front for the content, number of servings and date) and freeze the meal on a cookie sheet. Remove the cookie sheet when they are frozen. Bags take up less room in the freezer than containers and move into smaller spots if space is needed.

    Fall is also the time for cleaning windows and screens for the winter. Benya is the best streak free window cleaner you will ever use. Couple that with our lint free towels for spotless windows. You won't even be able to tell the glass is there. Plus it helps prevent fogging on bathroom mirrors and leaves a wonderful streak free shine on black faced appliances. Next use our Dry Sponge to quickly clean screens. Our CleanEz will remove grit and dirt around window sills and quickly removes most carpet stains besides being a remarkable all purpose cleaner.  Don't you love saving the space keeping dozens of products? The landfills love you for it as well. 

     The trick to speed cleaning your way through not only the holiday season but any time is having products that work and fast. Ask any man - they know. They buy the best tools for the garage because they know when it comes to doing any job it is the quality of the tool that makes it easy. The same goes for cleaning tools. Stock up now on your favorite items before prices go up in Nov.
