Monthly Specials:  

     Due to year end books, the need to finish writing my Precision Home Cleaning guide and the continued harassment from this ongoing lawsuit - for those of you who are new to my newsletter I was sued last May by a former distributor, Marine Clean and Leverage boat products, because I refused to ship them more stock when they had outstanding bills. The Judge refuses to dismiss the case even though every one of his claims is baseless. No, the American legal system does not work. It protects criminals while the innocent are harassed and forced to pay for the "privilege" of being treated thusly.  

     This means that increasing prices on my website has taken a back burner. Many of you, thank you, have taken advantage of the advanced price increase warning and ordered stock early. Pricing will be going up by the end of January if not sooner. 

     The good news! My web designer is busy adding my Precision Home Cleaning Kits to my website. The booklet on Precision Home Cleaning however, won't be finished until closer to the end of January. 

     For the remainder of January any order over $50 will receive one of my new diaper dusting/polishing cloths free. This is a $3 retail cost. Any order over $100 will receive the diaper cloth and one of my lint free cloths for windows a $5 value.

     It felt strange this year not sending you a separate email on Christmas Day to wish everyone a "Merry Christmas." When I started this newsletter over 10 years ago, everyone knew, even if they were Jewish or Moslem or another religious belief, that "Merry Christmas" was my way of sending them my heartfelt blessings for a year filled with the peace and happiness of the season. 

     Many of my readers returned this blessing expressed in the ways of their own religious beliefs. These blessings were literally shared around the world as my ezine reaches many nations. It was a beautiful sharing. Only three years ago when I sent this greeting over 200 people resigned from my newsletter stating how I offended them. I've refrained from sending this message ever since. So I wait until the first of the New Year to send you my wishes of peace, happiness and wellness. 

     This year I would like to send my message by way of a passage I read in a book called "Women of the Native Struggle." I believe the author is Yvonne Swan but I can't be certain.

     "Draw on traditions, the culture and spiritual teachings. I went within to find who she (me) is and cherish and hang on to that because that is life itself." 

     "Once you have that strength that feeling of belonging and that pride you can face anything. There is never any end to learning. It becomes a driving force within to keep searching and then the doors are always opened."

     "It's a beautiful experience. Daily prayer, no matter how brief is the strength that keeps us going. Ask the ancestors, especially the grandmothers.* They are waiting and wanting to help you."

     "Every step you take on Earth should be a prayer. The power of a pure and good soul is in every person's heart and will grow as a seed as you walk in a sacred manner. And if every step you take is a prayer, then you will always be walking in a sacred manner."

*The Native Indians believe that the ancestors who preceded us many, many years ago are with us in spirit to guide us. They are comparable to a guardian angle in many religions.

     If you have missed any of my cleaning tip newsletters they are posted on my blog accessible from the front page of my website www.goclean.com.

     Be sure to pick up Quick and Simple magazine now at grocery stores. This is the December 25th and Jan 1st issue. One of my tips for laundering towels is on page 62! You might want to start picking up this magazine regularly. I'll soon have a connection to the magazine from the front of my website. They are now carrying coupons for various manufacturers. A coupon for Mary Moppins will be in the magazine in the March 25th issue. Don't worry I'll remind you. 

     The holiday season is over and time to get decorations put back. There is no better time to deep clean than now when that space is already empty. Vacuum or sweep, clean and then treat the area if needed for any bugs like ants or spiders. 

     Any area where things are stored for long periods are breeding grounds for mold and mildew especially in humid or rainy climates. Our CleanEz does an excellent job not only removing dirt build up especially along the edges of carpet but it kills most mold and mildew. Our Pure Ayre is the best odor remover around. It will not mask odors but destroys them. Treat carpet or flooring early on if you suspect mold or mildew. Left unchecked it will spread. 

     Take care storing your holiday leftovers. Anything that set out for more than 4 or 5hours should be tossed. This is especially true of dips, salad dressings, meats or anything cooked. At the very least make sure to turn your refrigerator down just a bit if it is quite full. Freeze leftovers that won't be eaten immediately.

     Be sure to download copy of my stain removal guide from my website. It is handy to have when cleaning up after a party or anytime. 

     Today is a good day to record all your important dates on your calendar making note of needed doctor appointments etc. Mark these with colored pens. Perhaps green for birthdays and red for doctor appointments etc. 

      As you put away decorations etc, this is a great time to take a bit of extra time and look for anything that might be in need of repair. Jot them down on a list and keep it posted on the refrigerator. The next two months is the best time of year to make these indoor repairs. 

     Have you changed your fire alarm batteries lately? Chances are the ladder is out and a good time to change the batteries. Also check the date on your fire extinguishers - Yes I recommend having 3 of them in your home: one in the garage, one in the kitchen area and one in the bedrooms section. The three seconds you spend retrieving an extinguisher can mean the difference between saving yourself and your home and loosing everything. Be sure to have it checked by professionals. Yes it costs about $5 but that pales in comparison to the alternatives.
